Farm Visit #2

We were so glad that we got to spend a couple of days at the farm during Jarrett's Spring Break. It's always so fun to visit and to get away from the big city for a while!
Aaron loves getting to sit with his Great Grandma.."MaMaw"

Four generations of the Schmidt Family!

This is Jarrett's Aunt's house...and the sun was setting so we got a quick pic!

Just a swingin'

In early March we had some beautiful weather and so we decided to take Aaron to the park. Because he was a little late being able to hold himself up, we had never put him in a swing at the park before. Well what a fun day and what a treat to watch him experience the swing for the first time! He truly LOVES being outside and on the rare occasion that he's fussy, taking him outside will always calm him down. It was a very sunny day, so Aaron's eyes are closed in a lot of the pictures :)

Aaron loves to watch other kids run and play. He gets very intense when he sees toddlers doing things that he can't do yet. He's quite the observer.

We had to wait for the only baby swing to become available, but he seemed to have fun anyway!

So here we go....

He wasn't too sure about it at first....

But then it was all smiles!

Super bright sunny day!

We had such a fun day and plan to take Aaron as much as we can in the next few months!

8 Months Old

Aaron at 8 months old is so much fun! He laughs all of the time and is so easy to please. We have even caught him laughing when he's all by himself in his crib or just when he's playing. He squeals (super loud) in delight when he's really excited about something. He loves to walk in his walker around the house and has fun discovering new things.

Aaron turned 8 months old on Valentine's Day...but I was the one who recieved sweet gifts. The big flowers are from Jarrett and the baby roses are from our sweet baby :)

Aaron loves to go round and round!
Sweet smile!
I love this picture, because this is the look we get a lot from Aaron. It's usually when we are telling him to do something and he's trying to figure it all out.
Loves when it's time to eat!

My Dad started calling Aaron the "little dude" and so when we saw this hat we had to take a couple of pictures just for Grandpa Colburn. I think I've mentioned before that Aaron doesn't really like hats or things on his head, but he did pretty well for this quick pic.

Snow Days

In February, North Texas got hit with a ton of snow. I've lived here all of my life and can't remember the last time we had this much snow and ice in one week. Even though it made getting out of the house a hassle, we loved it because Jarrett was off of school for a whole week! It was so much fun bundling up Aaron and showing him the snow. He wasn't super impressed, but we had fun!

Not too sure about this....

Finally we got a smile :)

He still wasn't sitting up on his own yet, so thank goodness for the bumpo chair.

So cute--just checking things out.

We attempted to make a baby snow angel, but really it just ended up looking like we were laying our sweet baby in the snow...poor baby!

Being trapped inside, we were pretty bored. So we played lots of games and dominoes. Aaron had fun watching us play and liked the noise the dominoes made on the table.

It was such a fun week of family time!

7 Months Old

Aaron at 7 months old is so much fun! He has really started to play and laugh even more! This month he experienced lots of new things. He got to watch his first Super Bowl (which just happened to be at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium). Although he didn't stay up for the whole game, it was still an eventful night. I will say that Jarrett and I were very thankful for DVR and don't know how we would be able to watch anything without it :)

Aaron also rolled from his back to his tummy or the first time this month! He's been rolling back and forth ever since! He also started to sit up on his own, which made floor time a lot more enjoyable. Aaron also go to see lots and lots of snow for the first time! (I'll post a seperate blog of snow day pics). His top 2 front teeth came in and he has 4 teeth!!

He is so amazing to watch and we've never seen such a happy baby!

Showing off his teeth!!

Aaron gets a lot of playtime in his excersaucer. It goes around in a circle, kind of like a little track. He loves it! He will go around and around forever! We call it his "roundy round"...since we aren't really sure what to call it! It's so funny the names that you come with when playing with babies!

Aaron also gets a lot of playtime in his Elmo walker. He doesn't go very far on the carpet, but on tile or wood floors he's getting pretty fast!

Because Aaron is finally sitting up on his own, I am able to put him in the shopping cart without his carseat! This has been an amazing help to me. He outgrew is infant carrier fairly quickly, but I still needed something to put him in the store. So I am so grateful that with a lof of extra blankets and support he can now sit in the cart!

What a sweet boy!!

Baby at the Farm

Every year between Christmas and New Year's we take a trip to Kansas to visit Jarrett's side of the family and to see the farm. The Schmidt Family Farm has been in business for over 5 generations! We love seeing the Schmidts and being on the farm. We feel so blessed to be a part of something that is so important. One day we hope to move to the farm and help continue this wonderful family tradition. This was Aaron's first (of many) trips to the farm. He did great during the 6 hour car ride. He slept for just about all of it!

If we are ever so blessed to be able live on the farm, this is the plot of land where we would like to build our home. You can't tell by the pictures, but it really is breathtaking to look around for miles and miles and see nothing but blue sky and farmland!

Aaron got to meet his Great-Grandma (MaMaw) while we were there. He loved sitting with her in the rocking chair...they had an immediate connection :) It was so neat to see how Aaron reacted to a totally new environment. He would look for us all the time...just to make sure we were still there. It was so cute! We had a wonderful quick visit with the family and we always love our time in Kansas!

Once we were home we decided to have a little John Deere photo shoot with Aaron. These overalls were Jarrett's when he was a baby. We've had them in the closet just waiting for Aaron!

Such a happy little farm baby--I think green is his color!!

6 Months Old

Aaron's 6 Month Stats:
Height: 30 inches (off the charts!)
Weight: 22 lbs 6 oz

Well we made it half of a year! Aaron is the best baby and it really is more and more fun each day. At 6 months old, Aaron is such a great little man. He is happy just about all of the time! He sleeps about 10 hours at night and still takes 2-3 naps a day. This month Aaron got his first major cold. It seemed to last forever, but he handled it like a champ. He never  ran a fever, but he had lots of congestion and coughing.  Even though he wasn't always 100%, he still loved to play and would squeal in delight! We love him and can't believe how much he has grown!

Aaron LOVES bath time! He would stay and soak in the tub for hours if we would let him!

He's still loving his solid food too! We are so lucky to have such a good eater!

He does still spend a lot of time with Mom in the rocking chair. I'm so glad he likes to cuddle and hope it lasts!!

Look at that toothy grin :)

We love our big baby boy!! Can't wait to see what happens next!
