For our family Christmas card this year we knew we wanted it to be all about Aaron. So one Saturday morning after our little model woke up we had a small photo session in the living room. He was very cooperative (for about 20 minutes or so). We did one outfit change and tried as best as could to get him laughing! Aaron really does not like hats or hoodies, so I was surprised his santa hat stayed on as long as it did. We took a ton of pics--so I decided to just post the best of the bunch! It was such a fun morning and we can't wait to do it again next year!

5 Months Old
Aaron did a lot of changing and growing during this month. He began to eat solid foods and really loves to eat! He loves his veggies the most! He eats peas, green beans, squash and carrots! He also eats fruits but he doesn't seem to love them as much. He takes 4 bottles a day and eats solids twice a day.
Aaron also rolled over for the first time from his front to back! On Dec. 18 he was taking a nap and when Jarrett went to get him up he had rolled over! We were so excited and it made Aaron excited too!
Since he's a bigger baby, moving around can be more of challenge. He doesn't really love his tummy time. But he loves to play in his Seasame Street walker. We tend to call it his "Elmo" beacause there is an Elmo toy on it that he loves to play with it.
Aaron aslo loves spending time in his swing. He wasn't a fan of the swing as a newborn, but he has grown to love it. He will usually fall asleep in his swing at least once a day.
He also LOVES spending time with his grandparents! Grandpa loves to come over and visit and on this day even gave Aaron his bottle!
Aaron doesn't like wearing hats, but it was pretty cold out in December so he had to.We snapped a quick picture before the hat came off!
I wonder what he's thinking....
He fell asleep on Grammy one afternoon and always seems so peaceful with her.

Thanksgiving 2010
Thanksgiving 2010 was so much fun! Jarrett had the entire week off from school and so we planned a little post-baby get-away! As much as we loved being new parents, we were exhausted! So we went to Las Vegas for just 2 nights and it was perfect! My parents kept Aaron and as hard as it was to leave, we were so glad that we did! We stayed at the Mirage and saw a couple of shows. We ate great food, gambled a little and most importantly we slept in!! It was fabulous! Unfortunatley we didn't take a lot of pictures..I think we were so happy to just be on a break that we didn't think about it!
Once we came home it was all about getting ready for the holidays. We put up the tree and it was so fun thinking about family traditions with Aaron. We dressed Aaron up for Thanksgiving and just had to do a little photo shoot.
Aaron doesn't look too thrilled here..I think he was ready for a nap!
This boy loves to stand!!
He wasn't too excited about his cute turkey bib--but we thought it was great!
He finally got happy once he got the cute sweater and jeans were off...I think he just wanted to be free!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and we couldn't be more grateful for the family that the Lord has blessed us with. It's amazing to think about all the He has done for us.

Aaron's First Picnic & Family Visit
The Fall in Texas has amazing weather and Aaron loves being outside, so we decided to take him to the Dallas arboretum for the Pumpkin Festival that they do each year. I think he had a good time, although you can't really tell by the pictures :)
The vision I had for pictures of Aaron and the pumpkins didn't quite turn out. I didn't factor in that he couldn't sit up on his own yet :)
This was the best picture we got of Aaron and the pumpkins! We plan to do this again next October--and hopefully we'll get some better pics! Aaron got to eat his lunch outside and it was such a fun family day!
Jarrett's family from Kansas also came to visit us in early November. It was so fun to spend a couple of days with family and to see Aaron and his Uncle Daniel (Jarrett's little brother is 2) playing together.
Grandpa Carl and Uncle Daniel
Here are the boys checking each other out!
We love Grandpa Carl and Grandma Diane (even though we couldn't get a smile out of Aaron)! Thank you so much for coming to visit us!!
Month #4
4 Month Stats:
Aaron is a growing boy! He was in the 97th percentile..27 inches long and 18 lbs 15 oz.
October and November were busy months for us, so I think that I'll do a couple of posts about that time. Here are some basic Aaron updates. He is genuinely the happiest baby we have ever seen. He rarely cries and loves to cuddle. He must get his low-maintance attitude from his Dad :) We had a lot of firsts this month!
Aaron's first pair of overalls--he looked so cute!
This is one of the first pictures we got of Aaron laughing! Happy baby!!
Of course sometimes...he does give me this look..kind of like "Mom what are you doing??"
Aaron has only fallen asleep in our bed one time..and this was it! It was such a sweet moment one Saturday morning.
As you can see, he also cut his first 2 teeth this month!!
We also began feeding Aaron rice ceral this month. He wasn't too sure about it at first, but he caught on pretty fast. We'll have more food pics to come!
We love our sweet boy and can't believe how much he has grown in the past few months!

3 Months Old
This was a tough month for our little family! Well, really just for Mom :) I ended up having complications from breast feeding and had to have surgery in mid-September. This made taking care of Aaron pretty challenging and I needed help from Grammy Colburn almost everyday. I am so thankful for her.
We made it through and Aaron started to really become more alert during this month. He began to smile and was not sleeping as much during the day!
Aaron starting to smile :)
Football is huge in our family! Here's Aaron watching a game with Dad!
This is us at Aaron's first high school football game! We got to sit in the press box! It was so cozy and Aaron got a little tired :)
We also had our first full night away from Aaron. Grammy and Grandpa kept Aaron overnight on Oct.9, 2010. For our date night we went to see the movie "Life As We Know It"...this was a mistake. The movie is about a baby that is orphaned and ends up in the care of her God-parents. It's a sweet and cute movie...but I was a wreck! I insisted that we write our will that night. Needless to say, we stopped by my parent's house to check on Aaron after the movie :)
Aaron still loves to sleep and sleeps through the night almost every night!
Month 2
Two Month Stats: (Aug-Sep)
24 1/2 inches, 14lbs 6 oz
This month Jarrett started back to school and coaching football. He coached both 7th and 8th grade and was gone a lot! We were so thankful for the Colburns (Grammy and Grandpa) who would come keep us company on those late nights! The only time Aaron was very fussy was around dinner time. He was still sleeping a lot during the day and was still in a crib in our room at night. On Aug 31 (at 7 weeks old) Aaron slept through the night! He was and is such an amazing baby!
We bought a new camera this month and we tried to get some good pics of his feet :)
Frist time wearing shoes. We rarely put shoes on Aaron, but this was just too cute!
Still sleeping.....
He loves to cuddle :)
He LOVES his "A" Blanket from Aunt Shae!
This is Aaron at exactly 2 months old!
