Yee Haw!!!

Recently, Jarrett's grandma (MaMaw) gave us this hat....she's so sweet and thought that maybe Jarrett could wear it while he's working. Needless to say, it was a little small for Jarrett...but Aaron loves it!! He has never worn a hat for us before. We have tried every kind of hat and he always just pulls them off. But for some reason he loves this hat! And he always thinks he has to ride his horse when he wears it...it's pretty cute!

He'll even say Yee-Haw and Getty Up!! It's so entertaining to watch him have so much fun! Thanks MaMaw for helping us make these fun memories!

Gator Time

So one of the perks of being a part of a farming family, is that the kids get all kinds of fun toys from John Deere. You see if your farm buys a big tractor or combine, etc...they will sometimes throw in little things for the kids! So here's the newest toy--it's a small Gator for kids.

Jarrett's brother, Daniel, is 18 months older than Aaron...but as you can see, they are the same size! Daniel knows how to drive the gator, so Aaron is just the passenger and always holds on tight!

They are so cute to watch drive all over the property! It's quite the work-out to keep up with them!

Being the helicopter Mom that I am...I of course wish Aaron was wearing a helmet of some kind. And every person out here thinks that I am insane! They don't go very fast at all, but I always imagine the worst.

I couldn't get them to both look at the camera. It was a bright, hot and sunny day...so Aaron wouldn't really look up!

It's always so fun to watch the boys play! I don't think I'll handle it very well when the toys get bigger...maybe they can just stay this size for a while! :)

June/Harvest 2012

What a busy time this month has been! Between moving and the wheat harvest, it seems that there has been very little time to slow down. I am so thankful that Grammy and Grandpa were here to help us with the transition and all of the work that needed to be done! It seems that we put people to work when they come visit--so be warned :) It really is a working farm!

We were fortunate to have a few days in June that weren't too incredibly hot...so of course we were outside! Here are a few pics from the front yard!

As you can see, we had to put in a fence to corral our very busy little boy! He would just run and head into the next field if we would let him!

Harvest was very early this year and seemed to go pretty fast!

I just love seeing this on the trucks! I feel pretty proud/blessed to be a part of this family!
Here's Jarrett cutting the wheat!!
Wheat dust, wheat dust everywhere!

Of course Aaron is ready to get in on the action!

Here's Grammy and Grandpa showing the wheat to Aaron.
Even Grammy got in on the action this year and go to go for a ride with Jarrett! Aaron did NOT want to get down from the combine....so needless to say the pictures were not so great right after this!
One day, if we are fortunate enough we would like to build our own home on the farm. This is the tentative spot that we have picked out! It's the highest point in the county...which as you can see..isn't all that high! But that's Kansas! So thankful for a good harvest and that we get to be a part of it all!

Random April Days

I had a few silly/random pics from April that I had to include.

As you can see...Aaron and his Grammy have a ball playing dress up! He loves to help us in the kitchen and I think we could have a little chef in the making!

In April we also took Aaron to the Baylor campus for the very first time! It just happened to be the day of the Spring Premiere...so there were about 3000 high school seniors everywhere!! We took Aaron to see Judge Baylor and told him all about our very different college experiences :) We hope to have a future Baylor Bear on our hands too!!

Easter 2012

So this was our first time to really celebrate Easter with Aaron. We didn't go to church (as we didn't have a home church this year). But we did want to participate in fun events over the weekend! I had the perfect little outfit and was just waiting for a great big smile....of course...that doesn't always happen right when you want it to! So here's the best pics I could get of the day.
I have to say that I have the most handsome husband ever! I don't know how I got so lucky...but I really did. Boy was he worth the wait! Anyway...back to Easter :)
Aaron wouldn't smile until he got Mickey and Elmo..and then this was the best pic I could get!

We were invited to a backyard Easter party over Easter weekend and Aaron had a ball!
He absolutely LOVES the water and being in the pool!!

Making big splashes!! About a week after this I signed him up for swim lessons!

After swimming it was time for the Easter egg hunt! Aaron has never done this before, so it was all new to him. We hadn't really prepared him for what to do...so it was pretty funny to watch him just run around!
He was one of the youngest kids there....so he really just ran from egg to egg....

picking them up..then opening them up....

and then dumping out the candy on the ground....

Overall I'd say it was a pretty fun Easter weekend!
