The First Month

Aaron's 1 month Stats: 23 inches, 11 lbs 5 oz

We could not have asked for better timing for Aaron's first month with us. Jarrett was off for Summer break and it made things a lot easier having him with us.Honestly, Aaron was asleep for most of his first month. We still had Midnight, 3am and 6am feedings (he doesn't miss a meal)..but other than that he was pretty much asleep!

This is Aaron in the car seat...as we are leaving the hospital.

This is Aaron coming home for the first time! He was asleep--but we think he liked his new home :)

He woke up a little bit to check things out......

And then he was back to sleep.

We had a lot of visitors that first month...everyone wanted to meet Aaron! We were so happy to introduce to him our closest friends and family!

My sweet friend Laura and her precious daughter Caroline came to visit several times!

Love this picture of Caroline holding baby Aaron!

Another best friend from college Shae came to meet Aaron too!
She made him the most beautiful blanket (which has become his favorite).

My best friend Emily came to meet him too and made us dinner one night! She is such a servant and looks right at home snuggling Aaron.

Jarrett's good friends came for a visit too! This is Paul and Jason (soon to be Daddy) having some sweet time with Aaron.

Aaron did not love his first bath! There are more pictures of him screaming--but he wasn't covered and I doon't want to embarass him too much! He has since grown to love his bathtime! It's one of his faavorite things to do!

So this was Aaron during the first month of his life! He was and is such an amazing baby! We are so blessed!

July 14, 2010--Aaron's arrival

Aaron was measuring pretty big the week before he was born. The doctor told us that because of his size and my high blood pressure that we would need to induce early, so on the evening of Tuesday July 13...we headed to the hospital. Nothing really started happening until Wednesday morning. I was progressing normally and had the fabulous epideral by lunch :) Around 7:00pm the doctor felt like Aaron was too big and we needed to do a C-section. So at 10:41pm Aaron Matthew Schmidt was born. He weighed 9.1 pounds and was 21 inches long.

This was the only time I got to see Aaron...they kept him in the nursery for 3 hours! The hospital was super busy that night and Aaron needed to get his temperature up.  I was so upset that I didn't get to hold him until 1:00am!!
All the sweet granparents stayed up pretty late to see him!

Hello Blog World

Well I'm finally doing it...it's taken me a few months to figure it all out...but I stepping into the blog world! I have loved reading the blogs of several of my close friends and I've realized that I need to start documenting our family's life too!

Aaron is now 8 months old, so I will have some catching up to do. I'm going to attempt to go through each month and put up pictures and memories that Jarrett and I have from that time. I figure I better do this now, before I forget all of the little details of our life right now :) Here we go....
